Abstract

Abstract Key Points: • The main point of supervising a CPET is to make sure it is conducted safely, with the subject feeling well supported and confident to exercise vigorously. • Anyone supervising a CPET is responsible for monitoring the appearance and clinical status of the subject, ECG, blood pressure (BP), and SpO2. • If the subject starts to look unwell or vacant, stop the test. • CPET should be stopped immediately if the subject develops an arrhythmia. • It is important to use subjective scores of effort and breathlessness in the correct way.
