Abstract Key Points: • Interpret CPET results in the context of the clinical background and key clinical problem or question. • Use a systematic approach when analysing CPET data. • CPET interpretation is an iterative process. • CPET rarely gives a definitive, single, clear diagnosis. • A normal VO2max is reassuring, but still look for abnormalities that may provide insight and help address any problems.
