Abstract

Abstract Key Points: • CPET can be used to identify causes of long COVID symptoms such as breathlessness and chest pain. • In some people with long COVID, a normal CPET can provide reassurance and help with planning a recovery strategy. • Dysfunctional breathing (DB) is common in breathless subjects with long COVID. • CPET can be used to monitor recovery from long COVID. • A single CPET provides limited insight regarding the mechanisms causing post-exercise malaise or fatigue.
