Abstract

Abstract Abstract This chapter explores the area of two symmetrical triangles: Disability Culture, Justice, and Representation (as earlier elements of field work in disability studies, culture, advocacy, and activism); and Disability Community, Access, and Power–Pride (more recent constructs in the fieldwork around “disability”). At the hexagonal center of these two triangles is Disability Studies, touching on and connected with each one, and synergistically comprising the study, the struggle, the shaping of the field. The chapter works through all six corners of those triangles and connects them across various points, offering many texts and examples. The central claim is that the very foundations, origins, central constructs, objects of study, and methods and methodologies of the (fairly new) field of Disability Studies has always and already (immer schon) danced with positive psychology
