Abstract

Abstract In this letter, a finite differential cross section is derived for Coulomb collisions in high-temperature nondegenerate plasmas using the first Born approximation with a short-range potential incorporating quantum screening and diffraction. The corresponding momentum-transfer cross section is also shown to acquire a nonnegligible contribution from small-angle collisions.
