Abstract

Poly(ADP-ribose) (PAR) is a dynamic, RNA-like protein modification that plays essential roles in DNA damage repair, stress responses, RNA metabolism, and cell-cycle regulation. The therapeutic success of PAR synthesis inhibitors (PARP inhibitors) in breast, ovarian, and prostate cancers underscores PAR’s clinical importance.
