Abstract

Physical activity (PA) is a cornerstone of health maintenance, particularly in older adults, with benefits exceeding those of pharmacological interventions for numerous conditions. Despite World Health Organization recommendations, adherence remains suboptimal. Physiotherapists, as movement specialists, are uniquely positioned to promote PA; however, communication strategies to enhance adherence are underutilized. This brief report explores the critical role of physiotherapists in fostering PA adherence through effective communication, behavior change techniques, and emerging artificial intelligence applications.
