Abstract

This folder contains the notebooks and datasets used for the publication-level plots of arXiv:2512.09978 [gr-qc]. Main Notebook Make_all_plots.ipynb Produces the main publication figures. cumulative detections vs SNR redshift distribution of detections intrinsic and extrinsic corner plots for a GW231123-like injection Input Files catalogs_parameters_snrs.hdf5: simulated catalogs and SNRs for the various detector configurations. We publish 100 of the 1000 simulated catalogs, ensuring we include the most extreme cases. GWTC3_conf.csv: GWTC-3 event properties used for comparison (generated from GWOSC). GWTC4_conf.csv: GWTC-4 event properties used for comparison (generated from GWOSC). GW231123_all_samps.h5: posterior samples for the GW231123-like event for different detectors. Requirements Python 3.9+ is recommended. Required packages: numpy matplotlib scipy scikit-image h5py pandas corner jupyter Install with: pip install numpy matplotlib scipy scikit-image h5py pandas corner jupyter Note: The notebooks use LaTeX text rendering [rc('text', usetex=True)]. A working LaTeX installation is required for figure rendering with TeX labels. Reproducibility Notes Run notebooks from this directory so relative file paths resolve correctly. In Make_all_plots.ipynb, BASEDIR = '' assumes input files are in the current working directory. Adjust as needed. Keep STOREPLOTS = True to save publication figures. Quick Start Open this folder in VS Code/Jupyter. Start a Python kernel with the required packages. Run all cells in Make_all_plots.ipynb.
