Abstract

Abstract The Knowledge Management (KM) Mesosystem Model offers a transformative and practical framework for reimagining business education in the digital transformation era. By integrating human cognition, interdisciplinary knowledge sharing, and data-driven technologies—including artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), and big data analytics—this model addresses the growing demand for innovation in pedagogy and curriculum design. It provides a unified, three-layer structure comprising the Knowledge/Human Layer, the Yin-Yang Knowledge Development and Sharing Layer, and the Data/Machine Layer, each supporting active learning, ethical decision-making, and real-world problem-solving. This chapter’s main contribution is demonstrating how the KM Mesosystem Model can be operationalized across multiple dimensions of business education—undergraduate teaching, MBA programs, faculty development, research supervision, and academic conflict resolution. The model bridges the gap between conceptual instruction and industry-aligned, digitally enhanced learning by integrating AI tools and knowledge-based strategies into traditional curricula. For educators, researchers, and policymakers, the model is a roadmap for designing scalable, adaptive, and ethically grounded educational environments that prepare students for leadership in a knowledge-driven, AI-augmented global economy.
