Case Studies on Green Policies and Augmented Reality in InsurTech: Catalysts for Sustainability and Innovation
Abstract
This chapter explores the impact of green policies and augmented reality (AR) on the InsurTech sector, exposing how these stimuli drive sustainable development and entrepreneurship. Insurance firms are changing operations driven by green policies. At the same time, it is also changing the end client experience, providing immersive and transparent services like virtual client onboarding and claims resolution. It details how these polynomial forces of dual change – green policies and AR – help fulfill a green and innovative insurance industry. The two-part report estimates the positive impact of sustainability in financial services. It ensures engagement with customers through better AR in the context of lower compliance costs when it comes to the norms of environmental regulations and fewer service delivery errors. These are the case studies that are based on how AR has been applied for risk estimation and how a policy is described, for example, Zurich Insurance and Lemonade, as well as various international online home and rental insurance. It also discusses the challenges, such as cost, scalability, and customer acceptance, which could be lessened. It closes with a description of green AR policymaking experiments in the InsurTech sector, provides recommendations to insurers, regulators, and startups, and reiterates lessons for future (prospective) researchers to adopt for sustainability to develop in the industry.
