Abstract

Abstract Project-Based Learning (PBL) models of teaching have been documented as early as 1902. A rebirth of this method has found its way into teacher preparation programs and local school districts in an effort to address needed 21st century skills. This chapter discusses the historical and modern uses of PBL, its ramifications upon the present-day use, as well as contribution to the knowledge base of teaching preservice teachers. Perspectives from university professors will be shared.
