Abstract

Abstract Thermal imaging coupled with Artificial Intelligence (AI) is revolutionizing night‑vision monitoring in terms of improved visibility and threat detection automation. Normal cameras do not perform well under dim light, increasing security monitoring difficulties, while thermal imaging detects temperature signatures, with no restrictions, even in the absence of any light. Manual processing of large volumes of thermal data overwhelms security personnel, though. AI does this by scanning thermal images in real‑time, identifying objects, anomalies, and eliminating false alarms. Machine learning algorithms enhance image quality, object detection, and distinguish between humans, animals, and objects, for efficient monitoring. AI systems can automatically identify abnormal movement and potential threats and send real‑time notifications while minimizing human oversight dependence. These developments have widespread uses in border protection, military operations, urban protection, and monitoring of critical infrastructure. Thermal imaging with AI also comes with other security solutions, including video surveillance and motion sensors, for full threat analysis and predictive security. AI and thermal imaging are also used in health monitoring, industrial protection, and search-and-rescue missions. Through deep learning and computer vision, thermal imaging systems get more sensitive to ambient conditions, more adaptable and real‑time decision-making. The future will see more AI models optimized to be more accurate, work faster, and cover broader applications in security and other domains. These technologies being integrated enable more proactive, efficient surveillance solutions that will build a smarter and safer security ecosystem.
