Abstract

Abstract This chapter examines the transformative integration of artificial intelligence (AI) into management consulting, positioning AI as a collaborative co‑pilot rather than a replacement for internal consultants. It explores how AI can augment each phase of the consulting process—Pre‑Engagement, Client Discovery, Solution Design, Implementation, and Evaluation and Feedback—by automating processes, enhancing predictive analytics, and supporting internal decision‑making through pattern recognition and scenario modeling. This chapter’s analysis highlights the evolving role of internal consultants as strategic interpreters and critical thinkers who can leverage AI while maintaining accountability, client relationship management, and ethical oversight. It underscores the necessity for consultants to balance rapidly expanding technological capabilities with human expertise, creativity, and emotional intelligence. Ultimately, the synergy between AI and consultants can drive efficiency, innovation, and value creation while emphasizing the enduring importance of human judgment and ethical considerations in delivering tailored, impactful solutions for organizations.
