Abstract

Abstract International higher education (HE) is perceived as having the potential to enhance graduate employability in the global labour market by parents and students, but whether this can be achieved remains debatable. This chapter narrates the experience of a Chinese international graduate who received her Master of Philosophy (Education Research) degree in Australia and currently works in the Chinese headquarters of a global corporation. This chapter examines how the formal credentials obtained by international HE students in Australia, along with their related lived experiences, contribute to the acquisition of their graduate human and cultural capital, thereby enhancing their employability in the global labour market, particularly in international workplaces.
