Abstract

Purpose: The objective of this chapter is oriented to the analysis of innovative solutions in higher education (HE) in order to guarantee access to education for all. Design/Methodology/Approach: A descriptive study will be carried out that highlights the link between HE and sustainable development goal (SDG) 4. Findings: The chapter highlights that universities, despite being relatively new to the concept, have already engaged in socially responsible actions and the pursuit of sustainable development. These actions encompass environmental, societal, and economic impacts, addressing the interests of various groups such as students, faculty, staff, families, and businesses. Practical Implications: This study provides a comprehensive guide to the socially responsible actions of universities, making it possible to replicate these initiatives at other institutions. It contributes to the achievement of the 2030 Agenda, particularly in relation to SDG 4.
