Abstract

This chapter provides a deep dive into ethical dilemmas. It explains ethical dilemmas in everyday language, distinguishes between apparent and genuine dilemmas, and distinguishes between intentional and unintentionally created dilemmas. The authors call out six reasons why ethical dilemmas are increasing today and highlight the increasingly complex and dynamic nature of the knowledge economy. In this chapter, the authors expand the six categories of ethical dilemmas pertaining to knowledge by describing the types of dilemmas for each of the six categories discussed in Chapter 3.
