Abstract

Cavity discharge or bubble discharge is one of the main factors degrading the insulation ability of the dielectric environment. In this paper, we analyze the evolution process of the electric field in a dynamic bubble during its moving trajectory under the non-uniform electric field. Considering influence factors, this evolution is summarized with a model of revised enhancement factor. Then, the model is verified by a practical 3D structure and applied to a PD (partial discharge) analysis for an extended introduction. The results show the accuracy of the method. It simplified the insulation analysis of the environment with dynamic bubble clusters.
