Design and Test of MEMS Setback Arming Device for Fuze
Abstract
To address the structural strength issues in the setback arming devices of existing fuze MEMS, a "hook-shaped" setback arming device was designed. Finite element simulations, simulation tests, and projectile-borne tests were performed on the proposed device. Results demonstrate that this setback arming device improves structural strength and locking reliability. It can withstand a maximum overload of 17000 g during service processing and requires a minimum overload of 1500 g to achieve safety release at the launch stage.
