Design and Analysis of Very High-Gain Expandable DC–DC Step-Up Converter
Abstract
This paper presents a new non-isolated expandable high gain topology with two families of switched-diode-inductor-capacitor (2F-SDIC) network named a design and analysis of very high-gain expandable (VHGE) DC-DC step-up converter. Expansion of the proposed structure employing 2F-SDIC networks on the input and output sides increases the voltage gain, allowing the converter to achieve very high gain. The proposed converter achieves high voltage gain at low duty ratio, few components count, higher EI, lower Normalized Total Inductor Ripple Current (NTIRC), optimized Normalized Total Semiconductor Voltage Stress (NTSVS) and Normalized Total of Average Semiconductor Current Stress (NTASCS), higher Semiconductor Utilization Factor (SUF), better dynamic response, low ripple continuous input current, and higher energy conversion efficiency. The study of operational modes, as well as all calculations, is explained and carried out in a steady state. Also, small signal modelling is provided with controller design. Experimental validation of the performance of the 400 V-50 kHz-400 W proposed topology is conducted with the TMS320F28379D controller.
