Design of an Automated Disassembly and Inspection Process for Stacked Paper-Film Dual-Layer Packaging Box
Abstract
Stacked packaging is a widely used method for products, with appearance inspections typically conducted manually. However, this manual approach often suffers from low accuracy, inefficiency, and limited automation, posing challenges to efficiency and consistency in modern manufacturing processes. To achieve efficient, precise, and automated inspection of products in stacked packaging, this study proposes the RFBS model for developing optimized unpacking and inspection methods. First, the requirements, including functional, behavioral, and structural aspects, were defined within the RFBS model. Second, the requirement layer was translated into functional and behavioral layers, which were subsequently transformed into the structural layer. Meanwhile, a fully automated disassembly and inspection process has been developed, consisting of the following steps: outer box imaging inspection, outer box disassembly, inner box imaging inspection, inner box disassembly. Finally, a prototype was developed based on the RFBS method to achieve fully automated disassembly and inspection of the packaging system. Experimental results show that this automated process can automatically disassemble and inspect the stacked packaging with a reliability of 97% and a non-destructive rate of 99.8%, which provides a practical and efficient solution for the quality control of industrial production.
