Abstract

The main objective of this research work is to identify and offer control over faulty street lights automatically. The lighting system prioritises energy efficiency, low cost, automated operation suitable for streets, and rapid information response in the event of a streetlight outage. Typically, street light issues are found through complaints from colony (street) inhabitants. In contrast, the recommended approach utilises sensors to reduce the effort required to address problems and the time needed, making it easy to record the conditions under which these lights operate without human intervention. To reduce the amount of time it takes to resolve problems and the amount of human effort required. To mitigate this problem, we have therefore devised a system that utilises automatic street light detection to identify whether a street light is on at night, alerts the relevant individual if a particular street light is experiencing an issue, and pinpoints the location of any damage to the street light. The street lights use IoT to turn on and off autonomously. This technology determines the status of the street light. The LDR sensor will automatically switch the street lights on and off based on the weather.
