Experimental Study for Investigating Polarization Diversity Effect on Antenna Signal Reception
Abstract
This paper deals with the experimental study to investigate the effect of polarization diversity on antenna signal reception at a receiver, employing an array antenna with the same and different polarization configurations. Two linear antenna polarizations, i.e., horizontal and vertical, are configured and examined in an anechoic chamber using a triangular array antenna. The transmitter employs polarization diversity, while the receiver evaluates received power signal. The variations in power level of signal reception across different polarization configurations are also presented. The investigation results demonstrate that the use of polarization diversity significantly affects the level power of receiving antenna and stabilizes the power signal reception of receiver.
