Abstract

Increasing urbanization has created a challenge to provide safe and secure environments for the public, especially for women. Traditional CCTV is essentially just a recording device, therefore does not provide an immediate response in emergency situations. Therefore, there is a growing need for an intelligent surveillance system that could automatically detect human behaviour and provide timely intervention. This system will continuously monitor live feeds from CCTV and use AI-based Visual perception and Behavioural Analysis to identify any possible threats. The system will allow for tracking and detection of individuals as well as providing analysis of motion patterns for any forms of abnormal or aggressive behaviour while also allowing for the use of preset hand-gesture sequences which would act as a 'silent alert' in high-Vulnerability situations. This AI framework will be compatible with existing CCTV infrastructure and will provide an easily scalable solution to the need for real-time Threat Awareness and Automated Emergency Response.
