Deep Learning Based Early Detection of Pneumonia Using Medical Imaging
Abstract
Pneumonia is a serious lung disease, this enables disease most of the people are affected now a days mainly elders & children. Early Detection is crucial for effective treatment, However, standard diagnostic methods like specialists examination of X-rays of chest can be time-consuming along with vary depending on the experience of the doctor. This study explores using technology for deep learning, particularly Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs) like ResNet-50 and InceptionV3, can assist in accurately and rapidly pneumonia diagnosis based on X-rays of the chest pictures. Given its strength in image processing, CNNs are ideal for analyzing medical images and spotting trends that might point to pneumonia. This study adopts the ResNet-50 model due to its capacity to manage deep layers of information without losing important details, while InceptionV3 can capture subtle features in the images. These models are instructed on a sizable gathering of labeled X-rays of the chest to create a system that can correctly and automatically identify pneumonia symptoms, serving as a medical assistant. The model can identify pneumonia with high accuracy, lowering the number of missed cases and false alarms, according to the results. With this deep learning approach, the researchers aim to support radiologists by speeding up the diagnosis process and providing consistent results. This technique may prove particularly beneficial in places with a shortage of medical resources, where prompt and accurate diagnostic instruments can have an important impact on patient treatment. Techniques: Convolutional neural networks (CNNs), KNNs (K-Nearest Neighbors), SVMs (Support Vector Machines), pre-trained models (ResNet-50, InceptionV3), Image pre-processing and enhancement, data augmentation, and image resizing.
