Abstract

This paper proposes an innovative Arduino-based Indirect Evaporating Cooling System (IFACS) for smart home applications in urban heat island environments, emphasizing energy efficiency and eco-friendliness. The system employs a DHT11 sensor to monitor temperature and humidity levels, leveraging real-time data to optimize fan speed and water pump operation via a 4-channel relay module. By dynamically adjusting the cooling output based on ambient conditions through indirect evaporating cooling principles, IFACS achieves significant reductions in energy consumption and operational costs compared to traditional air conditioning systems. The proposed system's efficacy is validated through experimental results, demonstrating its potential as a sustainable alternative for residential cooling. The integration of IFACS with smart home automation frameworks is also explored, highlighting its compatibility with modern IoT-based infrastructure.
