WiSol-Charge: A Smart Solar-Powered Wireless Vehicle Charging Station with Automated Control and IoT Readiness
Abstract
There is Growing Demand for a Convenient, Safe and Eco-friendly Charging System of Electric Vehicles. World is Moving Towards Green Economy using Electric Vehicles. The vast majority of wireless charging models' sustainability is primarily limited mainly by the excessive dependence of these models on the grid power. This work presents a WiSol-charge, a small solar-powered wireless charging station that is created for educational and small electric vehicle applications to fill that major gap and overcome related problems. The system mentioned here is controlled using Arduino-based control unit and consists of photovoltaic panel, lithium-ion storage and inductive power transfer configuration. A$16 \times 2$LCD is provided to display the actual condition time of the system. The charging coil will be automatically turned on by the infrared sensor as it senses the arrival of a vehicle. Because of natural sunlight utilization in this prototype, safe battery regulation and steady solar generation are ensured. Moreover, effective wireless power transfer over short distances has been achieved. The results show that this system can function off the grid and is a very easy and hygienic alternative to a plug-in charger. This study demonstrates the practical mix of renewable energy and wireless charging. Furthermore, it highlights potential areas for development, which include MPPT, IOT monitoring, and high power designs.
