Abstract

This work analyses the performance of threephase Modular Multilevel Converter (MMC) connected to Induction motor drive (IMD). Half Bridge (HB) sub modules (SM) are used for testing the performance of five-level MMC. The multi carrier based Sinusoidal Pulse Width Modulation Scheme (MCSPWM) is adopted to control the switches of HBSM. The performance parameters including speed-torque characteristics during normal and loading condition and lineline output voltage is discussed and presented. The projected work is replicated in the software of Matlab Simulink environment.
