Predictive Production Planning in Advanced Manufacturing Using SAP PP and Analytics

The fast development of manufacturing systems promoted the use of new technologies like predictive analytics and combined software like SAP Production Planning (SAP PP) to enhance the efficiency of the production process, minimize its waste, and focus on the quality of the products. In this paper, the authors are discussing the implementation of SAP PP and predictive analytics to improve the production planning in the modern day manufacturing settings. The study uses predictive models in the forecast of demand, optimization of resource allocation and better decision making. The example of the effective implementation of SAP PP and analytics tools shows the enhancement of inventory management, production efficiency, and cost reduction. The results highlight the importance of predictive production planning in Industry 4.0 that provides manufacturers with a way to make decisions more data-driven and responsive. This strategy does not only improve operational effectiveness, but also, competitiveness in a dynamic manufacturing environment is boosted.
