Elderly Centric Mobile Assistance Platform with Voice and GPS Integration
Abstract
This paper describes a mobile application that was built to make daily life a little easier for older adults. The idea started from a simple observation: many elderly people struggle with small everyday tasks, not because they are incapable, but because most digital tools are too complicated for them. So, the app was designed in a way that keeps things clear, direct, and easy to follow. It includes options like emergency calling, medicine reminders, doctor appointment tracking, and an SOS message that can send the user's location during urgent situations. The emergency feature became one of the most important parts of the system. With one tap, the user can reach someone they trust, which gives both the user and the caregiver a sense of safety. The reminder tool for medicines helps prevent missed doses, and the appointment section keeps track of upcoming visits so nothing important is forgotten. Apart from these, the app can also show nearby clinics, pharmacies, and other useful places. A simple health chatbot is included to answer common questions or provide basic guidance without making things complicated. Health-related news is shown in a clean format so users can stay updated. The app also supports medicine ordering, which is helpful for seniors who cannot easily go out. To make the experience more comfortable, the app supports multiple regional languages. During testing, many elderly users said the app made their routine easier, and caregivers felt more relaxed knowing the emergency options worked properly. This paper explains how the app was built, why certain decisions were made, and how the overall system performed during use.
