Enhanced Optimization of Nut Supply Chains Using Metaheuristic Algorithms
Abstract
This study investigates the optimization of supply chains for nuts, focusing on the application of metaheuristic algorithms. We propose an enhanced approach using the Variable Neighborhood Search (VNS) algorithm and compare its performance against a Genetic Algorithm (GA) and an exact method. The results demonstrate that VNS outperforms GA in both computational efficiency and solution quality. While there is a slight trade-off in solution precision compared to the exact method, VNS significantly reduces computational time. This research contributes to the development of efficient optimization techniques for agricultural supply chains, addressing the complexities of resource management and distribution.
