Abstract

Through this study, we have examined the impact of Islamic finance on Pakistan's financial inclusion. With an integrated quantitative survey, data from 116 respondents in the financial sector were received, constituted as follows: bankers, civil servants, academics, business leaders, and students. A structured questionnaire was used to study their demographic characteristics, their understanding of the Islamic finance system, their perceptions, and their level of inclusion. The results demonstrated that most of the participants have a level of education, 92% have mastery of Islamic finance, and half are workers in the banking sector. This inferential analysis has demonstrated to us that the use of Islamic banks is a positive predictive factor, showing the financial inclusion and explaining 41.2% of the variation. The conclusions of this study confirmed that there is a link between the use of Islamic finance, perceptions, and inclusion. The chi-square analyses did not show a statistically significant difference between genders in their habits toward Islamic banks. Also, the participants strongly underlined the opportunities and the challenges, and declared that it would be favorable to adapt solutions to the difficulties of access to finances for women, rural communities, and small enterprises. These results support political initiatives like the project National Financial Inclusion Strategy and the program “Banking on Equality”. In general, the results show us that when Islamic banks are developed and give products and services in conformity with religious principles, they are considered a mechanism of economic growth in Pakistan.
