Abstract

This work presents an ultra-compact$10 \text{GS} / \mathrm{s}$sampled beamforming (BF) receiver front-end (FE) for a$2 \times 2$antenna array, enabling both azimuth and elevation steering in 22 nm FDSOI CMOS. The$4 \times$time-interleaved FE features a 200 ps range/14.3ps LSB true-time-delay employing a TaH-based BF with passive charge-based summation with 10.5 GHz signal bandwidth, eliminating power-hungry summing amplifiers. The FE receiver achieves an SFDR/SNDR$>57.5 \text{dBc} / 49.5 \text{dB}$with only$52 \text{mW} /$channel and a Schreier FOM of 153 dB.
