Abstract

This work presents a switched-capacitor power amplifier (SCPA) using periodic voltagepacing network, capable of generating output voltage beyond conventional rail-to-rail limit, which enhances both the output power (Pout) and efficiency. Fabricated in a 40 nm CMOS process, it shows a competitive 27.92 dBm peak Poutand 46.2% peak drain efficiency covering a wide 1 dB bandwidth from 4.5 to 7.2 GHz. Furthermore, it supports 200 MHz 64QAM and 80 MHz 256 QAM, confirming its suitability for 5 G/6 G and WiFi systems.
