Abstract

Fixed-sector model predictive control (FS-MPC) strategies suffer from rigid sector boundaries and the lack of a rigorous mathematical foundation for candidate voltage vector selection. To address these limitations, this paper proposes a dynamic sector partitioning strategy for Switched Reluctance Motors (SRMs) based on the Lyapunov stability criterion. According to rotor position and inter-phase torque characteristics, the motor operating region is dynamically divided into four sub-regions, providing a theoretical basis for selecting the optimal predictive voltage vector. Combined with model predictive torque control, accurate tracking of the reference torque is achieved. Simulation and experimental results verify the effectiveness of the proposed method. The results demonstrate that, compared with conventional FS-MPC, LDS-MPC significantly suppresses torque ripple under various experimental operating conditions. Specifically, at the rated speed, the torque ripple is reduced by 50.87% under heavy-load conditions and by 52.32% under light-load conditions. This strategy effectively resolves the performance deterioration of traditional methods under high-load conditions, achieving low torque ripple control across a wide operating range.
