Introduction to the January 2026 Issue

This is our final issue of 2025 and the culimination of our first 5 years of publication. We have a lot to be proud of, including the highest impact factor ever achieved for an MTT Society journal, the 3rdmost views per article published of any IEEE journal in our first two volumes, the top 10% of all IEEE journals in usage per article published over our full five years, 95th percentile (45th of 1066 journals in Electrical Engineering) on Scopus, sixteen special series papers, and two extremely successful special issues, including one highlighting the 70th anniversary of the MTT Society. Our submission rate has doubled since 2024 and our article views and download count has crossed the one million mark. We continue to bring exceptional visibility to our authors with a usage per article published rate that continues to rise every month and now exceeds 1780, near the very top of all IEEE publications. This issue we add 21 new research articles to our publication mix, with six from IEEE Fellows. We hope you will find them useful and will continue to look to JMW as a source for technical information and an outlet for your best research.
