Abstract

The aim of this study is to precisely monitor the temperature, pressure, and flow in pipelines using a fiber optic FBG Temperature-Pressure integrated sensor, which will improve the accuracy and stability of flow monitoring and provide reliable data for assessing the health condition of the pipeline. The study includes the design and fabrication of a Temperature-Pressure Integrated Sensor, which is distributed on both sides of the throttling orifice plate to monitor the temperature and pressure. The difference pressure across the throttling orifice plate is then used to calculate the real-time flow within the pipeline. The sensor according to this monitoring scheme has a temperature operating range of 0-50°C and a pressure operating range of 0-1 MPa. Experimental results showed that the maximum error in flow monitoring was 4.34%
