Abstract

This paper proposes an explicit phase compensation algorithm for arc-tangent function based Fiber-Optic interferometry demodulation. The proposed approach features explicit formulas and achieves a 3-4 times improvement in computational speed, compared to existing methods that rely on conditional branching for phase jump detection and compensation. Moreover, this paper analyzes the demodulation capability by considering the sampling rate. Equations for calculating the upper modulation bound are derived. The verification experiment results show that the proposed method can demodulate the measured signal well, and the upper bound of demodulation is consistent with the calculated results. The phase compensation and the upper bound calculation method are suitable for the real-time demodulation of fast signal with high-speed sampling.
