Efficient Radiative Wireless Power Transfer With Obstruction Resistance Based on Bessel Beam Expansion
Abstract
A novel approach for designing an efficient and obstruction-resistant radiative wireless power transfer (RWPT) system is proposed. The Bessel beam expansion is employed to construct a beam that not only creates a controllable low-energy region along its central axis but also achieves the time-reversal symmetric field distributions required for optimal power transfer efficiency (PTE). Comparative analyses with three typical beams confirm the superior performance of the designed beam in terms of both higher PTE and better obstruction resistance. To validate the proposed design, an RWPT prototype was constructed using annular leaky-wave antennas. The measured results fit well with the simulated ones. The proposed design offers a new solution for constructing an efficient and obstruction-resistant RWPT system within confined spaces.
