Abstract

In this letter, we propose a reconfigurable antenna array capable of switching polarization and single/dual beams, while achieving broadband RCS reduction. The designed antenna structure consists of a resistive absorption layer, a dual functional circular patch, and a reconfigurable power divider. By integrating parallel resistor diode circuits into the slot of each circular patch, switching between the absorption and radiation functions is achieved. In the radiation state, the circular patch employs an orthogonal feeding structure and is connected to a reconfigurable divider, which includes diodes and a reconfigurable 180° phase shifting network, achieving flexible control between x- and y-polarizations as well as between single and dual beam modes. The measurement results of the sample verify that the designed antenna array has four beam states, and the entire array has good impedance matching and stable radiation performance in the frequency range of 8.5-11.4 GHz. In the single beam mode, a peak gain of approximately 13.3 dBi is achieved, while dual beam mode maintains good radiation symmetry with a peak gain of approximately 11 dBi. Moreover, the array exhibits over 8 dB RCS reduction under vertical incidence for both x- and y-polarizations across 4.5-16 GHz, demonstrating its broadband stealth capability.
