An Efficient CDI-FDTD Scheme for Fractional-Order Dispersive Media
Abstract
In numerical simulations, traditional finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) method is constrained by the Courant Friedrichs-Lewy (CFL) stability condition, which results in low computational efficiency, especially when dealing with fractional order dispersive media. To overcome this limitation, in this letter, a complying-divergence-implicit FDTD (CDI-FDTD) method is proposed. It allows for larger time steps than those permitted by the traditional CFL condition. Using the Cole-Cole (C-C) fractional-order dispersive media as an example, the proposed method is employed to analyze the electromagnetic properties of fractional-order dispersive media. Numerical results demonstrate the advantages of this method in terms of both accuracy and computational efficiency.
