Abstract

In recent years, fluid antenna system (FAS) has emerged as a promising approach to increase the spatial degrees of freedom in multiple input multiple output (MIMO) systems. The extension of this concept to multiuser scenarios, known as fluid antenna multiple access (FAMA), allows users to suppress interference by selecting antenna positions where the aggregate interference power is minimized. However, practical implementations of this idea face challenges due to overhead and switching constraints. In this work, we propose a low-complexity variant of slow-FAMA (s-FAMA) that relies on interference tracking via Gaussian processes (GP) interpolation using a small number of simultaneously activated ports. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed GP-aided slow FAMA (s-FAMA-GP) method can match s-FAMA with significantly lower overhead.
