Abstract

Environmental dynamics around moving users can induce abrupt channel changes, making pilot-based estimation inaccurate and degrading transmission reliability. This letter introduces a Digital Twin (DT)-assisted environment-aware approach that proactively detects such changes and adapts transmission schemes to ensure ultra-reliable and low-latency communications. By accounting for DT modeling uncertainties, we predict a window in which abrupt channel changes are likely to occur and characterize the associated channel dynamics. Building on this prediction, we design a two-layer scheme that integrates fountain coding with optimized pilot and power allocation. Simulation results show that the proposed method achieves ultra-high reliability while maintaining high spectral efficiency under abrupt channel changes.
