Abstract

The Board of Governors (BoG) of the IEEE Communications Society (ComSoc) is the Society's highest governing and decision-making body. It is entrusted with defining ComSoc's strategic direction, policies, and overall management, and it holds the primary fiduciary responsibility for the Society. Acting on behalf of the global membership, the BoG establishes ComSoc's vision, mission, and long-term strategy, ensuring that all activities align with IEEE policies and governance principles. Among its core responsibilities, the BoG approves budgets, major initiatives, and programs; oversees conferences, publications, educational offerings, and membership activities; and safeguards the Society's financial health, transparency, and sustainability. Through this work, the BoG provides governance, accountability, and strategic leadership, guiding ComSoc's evolution and impact worldwide.
