Abstract

Artificial intelligence (AI) does not merely add new tools to an old world. It exposes the inadequacy of the metaphysics we still use to organize law, responsibility, and social life. The sciences have already moved from objects to processes, from things to histories. AI now forces society to follow. In this column, I will explore AI through this process lens—not as isolated technology, but as a participant in evolving socio-technical systems, where agency is distributed, responsibility is developmental, and the future is something we continuously create together.
