Abstract

This article presents ReliaShiny, a web application for reliability analysis built on the Shiny framework. Developed in response to the limited availability of accessible, open-source reliability tools, ReliaShiny provides an interactive interface for life data analysis (LDA) and reliability growth analysis (RGA). The application is designed in alignment with the FAIR principles, findability, accessibility, interoperability, and reusability, ensuring that analyses can be both repeatable and reproducible by the wider reliability community. ReliaShiny is available both as a web-hosted application and as a locally installable R package distributed through CRAN, where it has surpassed 10,000 downloads to date. The application employs a modular architecture, reactive programming, and quality management practices, including unit testing and continuous integration. Use cases include exploratory data analysis, classroom instruction, and early-stage professional prototyping. Future development will expand support to repairable systems analysis and accelerated life testing, further broadening the application’s utility for reliability engineers.
