Enhancement of Frequency Regulation in LFC with a Modified Fractional Controller in Multi-Area Restructured Power Systems
Abstract
The principle of load frequency control (LFC) is to retain power system frequency near its nominal value. The issue of frequency fluctuations in power system is addressed in this study. The power system is combination of two different energy sources thermal power and gas power is taken as investigated power system. The Quasi Opposite Crayfish Optimization Algorithm (QOCOA) is used as a soft optimization tool to fine-tuned of the suggested Controller parameters for LFC, by which we got the optimal control and dynamic system performance. so, with the use of proposed controller and optimized by QOCOA got improved frequency response of the power system. The suggested controller (FOPI-(1+PIDN)) is compared to basic PID and (PI-FOPID) controller and proposed controller's parameter fine-tuned with QOCOA were also compared with PSO and PSO with quasi opposite. System compares with renewable energy sources (RESs)
