Abstract

This paper proposed a compact and highly effective ultra-wideband rectifier for energy harvesting applications in radio frequency (RF) ambient. To reduce the complexity of the matching network, the rectifier adopted a matching network without reactance branches(WRB) on the voltage doubling circuit. Two transmission lines with different matching functions are used to achieve broadband matching. The working band rectifier is significantly widened and the measurement results demonstrate that a rectification efficiency of more than 50% is maintained over a bandwidth of approximately 130% (0.45 to 2.15 GHz) at 8-dBm input power, with the maximum rectification efficiency of 75.4%.
