Analytical Design and Decision Tree-Based Excitation Strategies for Low-Profile IPT Systems Insensitive to Angular Misalignment
Abstract
This paper proposes a low-profile transmitter (Tx) coil architecture for omnidirectional inductive power transfer (OIPT), tackling angular misalignment and enhancing power output during dynamic receiver (Rx) rotation. The roles of the coil design and the control system are analytically delineated. Particularly, an analytical model, formulated as a constrained optimization problem, maps the relationship between mutual inductance and current excitation, underpinning a decision tree-based (DT-based) excitation algorithm. This algorithm classifies offset types via coupling relationships between Rx to various Tx, enabling swift and tailored excitation strategies to maximize power transfer. Simulation and experimental results validate the proposed architecture's angular misalignment tolerance and superior power transfer capacity compared to conventional planar IPT systems.
