Abstract

The contemporary agriculture has been challenged by inefficient irrigation, uneven soil moisture, excessive use of water, and reduction in the health of plants. Conventional manual irrigation is costly and inaccurate in nature and this leads to over irrigating or under irrigating, low yield of crops, and wastage of resources. The proposed project is an IoT-Based Autonomous Robot to Smart Irrigation and Water Level Monitoring that will take advantage of the maximum use of water and make crops healthier. The system will operate through the IoT sensors to detect the moisture content of the soil and water in real time whereas the robot will roam independently around the field identifying areas requiring irrigation and only irrigate them when there is need to. On the completion of the task, the robot will go back to its docking station. Combined with a cloud system that they can access with a web-based application or smartphone, the system will enable farmers to watch and manage their irrigation schedules remotely. The sensor information is stored in the cloud in order to aid analysis of past irrigation patterns which allow more accurate and efficient irrigation plans. This solution, which integrates autonomous robotics, IoT, and cloud computing, can provide intelligent, scalable, and sustainable solutions to contemporary agriculture to ensure efficient use of water, labor reduction, better soil quality, and healthier crops, and can be seen as a viable move towards technology-oriented, data-driven agricultural practices.
