Abstract

Wireless signal propagation and spectrum analysis form the foundation of modern communication systems, influencing the performance of 5G, 6G, and IoT-based networks. The complexity of radio environments, characterized by multipath fading, shadowing, and interference, necessitates precise modeling and adaptive spectrum management strategies. In this paper, we present an extensive study of wireless propagation models, spectrum occupancy trends, and experimental evaluations using software-defined radios (SDRs). This paper investigates wireless propagation models under different environments, presents spectrum analysis using experimental measurements, and introduces a novel framework integrating adaptive spectrum sensing with propagation-aware optimization. Our results demonstrate improved reliability and efficient spectrum utilization compared to conventional approaches. A novel propagation-aware spectrum sensing framework is introduced, demonstrating improved spectral efficiency and reduced packet loss. The findings are validated through indoor and outdoor experiments, making this study relevant for spectrum policy design and future wireless systems.
